Last updated: May 7, 2026 Effective date: May 7, 2026

Welcome to ScreenLeaf. ScreenLeaf is a screenshot management tool that helps you find, recognize, search, and organize screenshots on your device. We value your privacy and personal information protection. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your information, and how you can manage your information.

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please stop using ScreenLeaf. By continuing to use ScreenLeaf, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

ScreenLeaf's basic screenshot scanning, OCR, search, categorization, smart actions, cleanup suggestions, and long screenshot stitching are primarily processed locally on your device. We process network-related data only when you actively use features that require connectivity, such as AI, account, subscription, or feedback features.

1. How We Collect and Use Information

1.1 Photo Library and Screenshot Information

To find and organize screenshots, ScreenLeaf requests access to your photo library. After authorization, we read screenshot assets in your system photo library and process the following information:

  • Screenshot image data.
  • Screenshot creation time.
  • Local screenshot identifiers.
  • File information such as image size and resolution.
  • Location information that may be included in screenshots.
  • Screenshot text recognized through OCR.

We primarily process this information locally on your device to build OCR indexes, support search, categorization, smart actions, cleanup suggestions, long screenshot stitching, and data export.

ScreenLeaf is not a cloud drive, photo hosting service, or original screenshot backup service. Except when you actively use AI, account, subscription, or feedback features that require connectivity, we do not upload all of your original screenshots to our servers for the basic local organization features.

1.2 OCR Text and Local Organization Data

ScreenLeaf stores OCR text and organization data on your device, including:

  • Screenshot titles.
  • Recognized OCR text.
  • Categories and custom categories.
  • Smart action recognition results.
  • AI summaries, tags, categories, and entity results.
  • Metadata such as processing time, confidence, and whether a rescan is needed.

This data lets you search, view, organize, export, and reuse screenshot content.

1.3 Account Information

When you register, sign in, or manage your account, we may collect:

  • Email address.
  • Password or verification-code related information.
  • Identity token, email, name information, and nonce returned by Sign in with Apple.
  • Nickname.
  • Account creation and update time.
  • Login tokens and refresh tokens.

Login tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain to keep you signed in and to access features that require authentication.

1.4 Device and Network Request Information

To provide account, security, subscription, and API services, we process:

  • Device ID.
  • Device name.
  • Platform type.
  • App version.
  • System language.
  • Time zone.
  • Request time and API request information.
  • IP address, network status, and other information that may be automatically recorded in server logs.

This information is used for login verification, API authentication, risk control, security audits, troubleshooting, and service improvement.

1.5 Membership Purchases and Subscription Information

When you purchase, restore purchases, or use membership benefits, we process:

  • Apple StoreKit transaction receipts or JWS data.
  • Product IDs.
  • Transaction IDs and original transaction IDs.
  • Subscription status, expiration time, and renewal status.
  • Pro benefits and AI credits.

We send Apple transaction information to our backend for verification so we can confirm and update your membership benefits. Payment is provided by Apple. We do not directly collect or store sensitive payment information such as bank card numbers or payment account passwords.

1.6 AI Feature Information

When you actively use AI features, we send the information needed to complete those features to our backend for processing:

  • Single screenshot AI analysis: OCR text and screenshot image data may be sent to generate summaries, categories, tags, and entity information.
  • AI library organization: representative OCR text, screenshot counts, time ranges, source apps, current categories, and keywords generated from local clustering may be sent to generate event groups, recategorization suggestions, and cleanup suggestions.
  • Text Pro: selected text is sent for formatting, translation, or summarization.

Please avoid actively submitting screenshots or text containing highly sensitive information unless necessary. AI results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misclassified, so you should review them before use.

1.7 Feedback Information

When you submit feedback or contact support, we may collect:

  • Feedback type.
  • Contact email.
  • Feedback content.
  • App version.
  • Device model and system version.

This information is used to diagnose issues, respond to feedback, and improve our services.

1.8 Calendar, System Search, Widgets, and Clipboard

When you use the related features:

  • Calendar reminders: we request calendar permission and create calendar events based on date information you choose.
  • Spotlight Search: we write screenshot titles, partial OCR text, and keywords to the system Spotlight index.
  • Widgets: we write pinned screenshot titles, OCR previews, category counts, cleanup counts, total screenshot counts, and similar data through an App Group so widgets can display them.
  • Clipboard: when you tap smart actions to copy verification codes, links, email addresses, prices, and similar content, we write that content to the system clipboard.

The above processing primarily occurs locally on your device.

2. System Permissions

ScreenLeaf may request the following permissions:

  • Photo library permission: used to find, read, display, organize, and delete screenshots, and to save stitched long screenshots.
  • Calendar permission: used to create reminder events based on dates in screenshots.

You can modify or revoke permissions in iOS Settings. If you revoke photo library permission, core features such as screenshot scanning, OCR, search, categorization, cleanup, and stitching may not work properly.

3. How We Store Information

We store information on your device and on servers as needed for the relevant features:

  • Local data: OCR records, search history, settings, device ID, guest status, widget data, Spotlight index, and similar data.
  • Keychain data: login tokens and refresh tokens.
  • Server data: account information, membership benefits, AI credits, purchase verification results, feedback, AI requests and results, and similar data.

We retain your personal information only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law, dispute resolution, security protection, or contract performance.

4. How We Share, Transfer, and Publicly Disclose Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share necessary information in the following situations:

  • Sharing with or receiving information from Apple related to purchases, subscriptions, and sign-in to complete Sign in with Apple, StoreKit payments, and subscription verification.
  • Sharing OCR text, screenshot images, or text content that you actively submit with AI services or backend computing services to complete AI analysis, organization, translation, summarization, and similar features.
  • Sharing necessary data with cloud service, database, logging, and security service providers to keep the service running.
  • Disclosure required by laws, regulations, regulators, courts, or administrative authorities.
  • Necessary disclosure to protect the personal or property safety, lawful rights, or system security of users, us, or the public.

If we integrate new third-party SDKs or service providers in the future, we will identify their names, processing purposes, information types, and privacy policy links in this Privacy Policy or a separate list.

5. Your Rights

You may exercise the following rights in accordance with applicable law:

  • Access, correct, or supplement account information.
  • Delete your account.
  • Export local OCR data.
  • Revoke system permissions.
  • Sign out.
  • Contact us about personal information requests.

After account deletion, server-side account information will be deleted or anonymized according to server-side processing rules. Original screenshots on your device remain managed by the iOS Photos app. To delete photos, please use the system Photos app or ScreenLeaf's deletion feature.

6. Children's Privacy

ScreenLeaf is mainly intended for users who have full legal capacity to use digital services. If you are a minor, please use ScreenLeaf with the consent and guidance of a parent or guardian. If a guardian believes that a minor has provided personal information to us, the guardian may contact us for assistance.

7. Information Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Using HTTPS to transmit API data.
  • Using Bearer Tokens for API authentication.
  • Storing login tokens in the iOS Keychain.
  • Verifying membership and AI permissions on the server side.
  • Applying error handling, rate limiting, and security audits to APIs.

No internet environment is absolutely secure. Please keep your account, password, verification codes, and device safe.
